Producers and processors rely on BWI‑ACME for bulk packaging solutions that protect quality and maintain cleanliness throughout the food supply chain. Our food‑grade FIBCs, woven bags, and liners support grains, pulses, seeds, feed ingredients, and specialty food products.
We also supply custom protective covers and tarps for equipment, totes, and pallets to reduce contamination risks and keep operations running smoothly in variable storage and weather conditions.
An FIBC is a large woven polypropylene bag designed to store and transport dry bulk materials such as grains, seeds, fertilizers, and powders.
Food‑grade FIBC (bulk bags) are manufactured in certified facilities using virgin polypropylene and strict hygiene standards to ensure they are designed for handling and storing food ingredients. Food-grade bulk bags require additional quality checks which include but are not limited to: metal detection, air washing, and light table inspection.
Common FIBC (bulk bags) sizes used in the agricultural industry range from 35x35x35 in. to 40x40x60 in., depending on product density, desired weight requirements, and loading requirements.
Baffle FIBC (bulk bag), sometimes called form-stable or Q-bags, retain a square form when filled, making them excellent for export applications or when loading space is tight. Baffle Bags are commonly used by Canadian agri-food exporters. BWI stocks standard baffle bags and supplies specialty baffle bags with liners, internal mesh, and net baffles.
Some FIBCs can be reused depending on their safety rating and condition. Always inspect bags for damage before reuse to ensure safe handling. We support the reuse of FIBC (bulk bags) from a sustainability lens where suitable and safe, and strictly at the end user’s discretion and risk.
That depends on your product and local regulations. It is best practice to check with your regulatory body and industry requirements to determine whether food‑grade bags are required. Typically, food‑grade bags are used for finished food products intended for human consumption.
We stock FIBCs with 4‑loop designs in both corner‑loop and cross‑corner‑loop styles. We also supply bags with tunnel loops, single loops, two‑point lifting, and alternative lifting designs for specialty applications.
BWI recommends using a PE liner to protect moisture‑sensitive products. Some bags come with liners included, and additional PE liners are available for purchase. They can also be used as pallet covers for added protection.
