The BWI story begins with the first generation. In 2005, Brian Cook founded Bag Works Inc. (now BWI‑Acme Enterprises Ltd.) after witnessing the decline of Trimeg Holdings — a Calgary‑based FIBC manufacturer where he had spent much of his career.
Quinn grew up in the business — starting with Saturday mornings folding landfill covers in the parking lot of Trimeg — and today serves as CEO and Co Owner of BWI Acme Enterprises Ltd. With over 15 years of experience in manufacturing, transportation, and bulk packaging, Quinn leads with clarity, fairness, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Morgan joined BWI in 2014, starting in front desk administration and steadily growing into a leadership role in customer success and operations. She is now Co-Owner of BWI-Acme Enterprises Ltd., working alongside her brother. Her dedication, adaptability, and product knowledge make her a trusted partner to clients across industries.
Trimeg, which had produced bulk bags locally since the late 1980s, struggled to meet its financial and employee obligations and ultimately entered receivership shortly after Brian’s departure. By 2008, the company closed its doors, unable to compete with offshore production. Rather than let Western Canada lose a trusted source of industrial packaging, Brian stepped forward. He launched BWI with a commitment to reliability, integrity, and local manufacturing.
The company began producing and importing bags for customers in mining, food processing, hazardous waste, and other industrial sectors — building a reputation for quality and service that still defines us today.
From the beginning, BWI has stood apart by investing in Canadian manufacturing and working directly with customers to develop new, practical innovations in packaging and covering solutions. While many competitors moved offshore, we doubled down on local capability, technical expertise, and long‑term partnerships.
